13 year old boy missing in Blue Mountains located

KATOOMBA, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia – Blue Mountains police have rescued a thirteen year old boy who went missing while trekking in the Blue Mountains on Sunday.

The boy had been walking on the Jack Evans Track from the Nepean Lookout to the Erskine Park River when he got lost.

Police were called in and a search was made on foot while Pol Air 5, a search and rescue helicopter, was also commissioned.

The boy was located about 500 metres off the Track  PolAir 5 was able to land nearby. The boy and a police officer involved in the land search were both taken on board the helicopter and taken to Glenbrook where they were met by local Blue Mountains Police.
