PARKES, Central West, NSW, Australia – An 18-year old youth appeared in Parkes Local Court on Tuesday charged with murder.

The victim of the alleged murder, a 25-year old man was allegedly shot late Monday afternoon.

Central West police received a report of the shooting just before 5:00pm on Monday.

First responders treated the 25-year old at the scene before rushing him to Parkes Hospital. However he was not able to be saved.

The younger man, the 18-year old was arrested at the scene and taken to Parkes Police Station where he was charged with murder.

He was refused bail ahead of his appearance on Tuesday at Parkes Local Court.
