20-year old youth dies from stab wound to chest in Orange

ORANGE, Central West, NSW, Australia – Police in the Central West are looking for a 26-year old man who was involved in an altercation in the early hours of Saturday morning, which has resulted in the death of a 20-year old youth.

Emergency services were called to a home on Romano Drive, Orange just after 3:00am on Saturday after receiving reports of the altercation.

On arrival, the 20-year-old man was found unresponsive with a stab wound to his chest. A second man, aged 26, had fled the area in a Holden Commodore before officers arrived. The men were known to each other

Officers from Central West Police District performed CPR on the man; however, when NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived, he was declared dead at the scene.

Local police are currently searching the surrounding area and have since located the vehicle abandoned on Clinton Street.

A crime scene has been established at both locations which are bering examined by specialist police.

Investigations are continuing with the help of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
