28-year old man in critical condition following Rylstone crash

RYLSTONE, Central Tablelands, NSW, Australia – A man remains in critical condition in Westmead Hospital after a serious motor vehicle collision in the state’s Central Tablelands region on Monday.

The crash occurred around 5:45am Monday on the Bylong Valley Way near Rylstone, approximately 98 kilometres north of Lithgow and Bathurst, and 57 kilometres southeast of Mudgee.

The driver, a 28-year old man and a 17-year old boy were in the vehicle, a Toyota Hilux, when it left the road and rolled a number of times before coming to rest off the eastern side of the road.

The man was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency services. He was flown to Westmead Hospital in serious condition.

The 17-year-old boy, the only passenger in the vehicle, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Orange Base Hospital for treatment.

Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District attended and are currently investigating the crash.
