CENTRAL WEST, NSW, Australia – A 43-year old woman appeared in a Central West court on Friday after an horrific road rage incident in the region a day earlier, which has left another woman in critical condition.
The saga began shortly before 10:50am on Thursday when the drivers of three cars, a Holden Commodore, a Toyota Prado and a Kia Rio pulled their cars to the side of the road and had a heated argument.
The incident took place in Cobra Street, near the intersection of Brigalow Avenue, in Dubbo.
Police allege the Holden driver, a 43-year-old woman, returned to her vehicle and drove at the Toyota driver, a 41-year-old woman, who was standing on the road, striking her and then driving off.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District and paramedics rushed to the scene arriving shortly after 10:50am.
The injured woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Dubbo Base Hospital. She was later airlifted to Westmead Hospital in critical condition.
A crime scene was established and examined by forensic officers.
Following inquiries, the 43-year-old woman was arrested at Dubbo Police Station about 11.10am Thursday.
She was refused bail ahead of her appearance at Dubbo Local Court on Friday.
