LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – A 77-year-old local Lithgow man is recovering in the Lithgow Hospital after his truck tipped on its side on Thursday afternoon in Inch Street, Lithgow.

Lithgow Police told 2LT/Move FM News the vehicle, with a GVM of approximately 30 tonnes was being either loaded or unloaded with scrap metal at the time of the incident.

Authorities say they were awaiting the arrival of a heavy vehicle crane to assist with the salvage operation.

Motorists are being advised to exercise caution when using Inch St, Lithgow, near the crash site.

Police say that Workcover have been notified and will be investigating the incident.
