Australian women rowers get new training facility

Nov 6, 2017

SPRINGWOOD, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia – Australia’s female rowers have gotten a major boost to their preparations for future Olympic Games.

Last weekend, a new $2 million training centre was opened at the foot of the Blue Mountains, on the banks of the Nepean River.

To be known as the Hancock Prospecting Women’s National Training Centre, the new purpose-built high performance facility has been paid for by Australia’s richest woman Gina Rinehart, who will also provide annual grants to assist in the running of the facility.

Gina Rinehart is the Patron of Rowing Australia. She and Sports Minister Stuart Ayres were on hand for the official opening last Saturday.
