Blazing fire following collision between van and truck kills seven

UNNAO, Uttar Pradesh, India – At least seven people were on Sunday burned to death after a truck and van collided turning the van into a fireball.

The incident took place under Bangarmau police station limits near the toll plaza on the Agra Lucknow expressway, in Unnao in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

SP Unnao, Vikrant Veer said, “One of the tyres of the van burst resulting in the van going on to the wrong side of the road and colliding with the truck. The vehicle caught fire resulting in the death of seven people inside it.”

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

It was one of two fatal crashes on Indian roads on Sunday to result in 7 deaths.

In Yavatmal, Maharashtra, a vehicle overturned Sunday killing seven of those on board, and injuring 15.
