Bowenfels man arrested and charged over murder of woman in Lithgow

KATOOMBA, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia – A man appeared at Penrith Local Court on Friday charged with the murder of a 27-year old woman at Lithgow, in the New South Wales Central West, nearly 8 years ago.

The body of Jenoa Sutton was found in the bathroom of a home on Macaulay Street, Lithgow, about 4:15pm on Thursday 8 March 2012.

A post-mortem examination found she died of a head injury and drowning.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, together with Chifley Police District, established Strike Force Aubin to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives arrested a 50-year-old man at a business in Katoomba just before 11am Thursday.

He was taken to Katoomba Police Station and charged with murder.

The Bowenfels man was refused bail ahead of his appearance at Penrith Local Court on Friday.
