Central West to share in $159 million health grants program

BATHURST, Central West, NSW, Australia – Central West Women’s Health Centre is one of more than 320 NGO service providers from across New South Wales that will receive funding under the NSW Government health grant program. 

Paul Toole, the local Member for Bathurst, said the Central West Women’s Health Centre, which will receive around $250,000, helps provide important services for the wider local community.

“The NSW Government is proud to continue partnering with NGOs that assist the vulnerable, particularly in hard to reach populations,” he said Friday.

“The Central West Women’s Health Centre in Bathurst provides a unique and holistic service to help and empower women and children.”

“The Government’s partnership with NGOs helps ensure the people of Western NSW can access care close to home.”

Other NGOs receiving funding through the $159 million grants program to provide services in Western NSW and elsewhere in the State include:

– ACON Health Limited – $11.1 million to deliver HIV prevention and health promotion.

– Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia – $5.3 million to provide aeromedical services.

– Royal Far West Children’s Health Scheme – $3.9 million to deliver specialist paediatric services to families in rural and regional areas.

– Diabetes NSW – $2.7 million to provide free syringes and pen needles to people with diabetes.

– Life Education NSW – $2.1 million to undertake a drug education program in NSW schools.
