Double fatality in horrific crash near Dubbo

DUBBO, Central West, NSW, Australia – Two men were killed late Saturday night when their Toyota Hilux rolled over a number of times before coming to a standstill, after which they were hit by another car.

The driver of the second car, a Toyota Landcruiser was unhurt. The 19-year old driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

The freakish collision occurred just before 10:00pm on Saturday night on the Mitchell Highway, about 20 kilometres southeast of Dubbo.

Officers from the Orana Mid-Western Police District are investigating the circumstances of the crash, which resulted in the Mitchell Highway between Dubbo and Geurie being closed in both directions for some time.

The names of the two men killed, one aged 29, and the other 35, have not been released. Police said they died at the scene.

The double-fatality follows a horror five days towards the end of last month when five people were on killed on Central West roads in five days.
