ORANGE, Central West, NSW, Australia – A 71-year old man has been killed in a head-on collision at Orange, in the state’s Central West.
The collision, involving a Toyota Camry sedan and a Man prime mover took placed around 9:20am on Monday morning on the Northern Distributor, south of Ophir Road, Orange.
Emergency services were on the scene shortly after.
The driver of the Toyota, a 71-year-old man, was freed after being trapped for some time. He was being airlifted to a Sydney hospital when his condition deteriorated and was diverted to Orange Health Service. However, he died on arrival.
The truck driver, a 27-year-old man, was uninjured. He was taken to Orange Health Service for mandatory testing.
Officers from Central West Police District have commenced inquiries into the crash and will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash or with dash cam footage of the incident to come forward.
