Man in 70s killed after car rolls over several times in Central West

CENTRAL WEST, NSW – A man is his 70s is dead after his car left the road and overturned multiple times in the New South Wales Central West.

The man was the only person in the vehicle.

It was the fourth fatal road traffic crash on Central West roads in the past week.

The latest crash took place around 11:20am Monday on Brolgan Road, near Coopers Road, in Parkes.

Police believe the vehicle, after turning over several times, came to rest in a paddock.

Officers from the Central West Police District were quickly on the scene, and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

The series of fatal crashes in the past week began last Monday night whena woman was killed in a head-on collision between a 4WD and a small truck on the Guntawang Road, Galambine, just north of Mudgee.

Then on Thursday, a motorcyclist believed to have been in his 60s, was killed when his motorcycle collided with a Holden Barina hatchback on Windeyer Road at Windeyer, about 30 kilometres south of Mudgee.

And on Friday a woman was killed when a car carrying a family of five was struck by debris from a passing truck on the Newell Highway at Alectown, about 25 kilometres north of Parkes.
