Nov 18, 2019

CENTRAL WEST, NSW, Australia – A 36-year old man will appear in a Central West court on Monday after being charged with biting one woman police officer and kicking another.

The man was reported to police as being in a pub in Orange in a drug-affected state with a pistol sticking out of his trousers.

Police arrived at the pub around 2:50pm on Sunday. The pistol was seized and the man arrested. The pistol was found to be a replica gun. The man was also carrying a flick knife.

Because of his drug-affected state the man was taken by ambulance to Orange Health Service. During the trip to the hospital the man assaulted the two female officers travelling with him. One was bitten and the other kicked, before the man could be restrained.

Following treatment at hospital, the man was taken to Orange Police Station and charged.

He was refused bail ahead of his appearance on Monday at Orange Local Court.
