Man who disappeared in Blue Mountains 8 days ago found deceased
May 31, 2020KATOOMBA, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia – The body of a bushwalker police have been searching for since he disappeared last Saturday was recovered on Sunday.
The 75-year-old man David Bush was last seen at Evans Lookout carpark at Blackheath in the Blue Mountains about 9am last Saturday.
He told family he was going for a bushwalk, however he failed to return home and had not been heard of since.
Officers from the Blue Mountains Police Area Command were notified and a large-scale search for the man commenced last Sunday.
About 1.30pm Saturday afternoon, PolAir located the body on a cliff ledge in bushland north of Evans Lookout.
A police operation was conducted to recover the body on Sunday.
The body is yet to be formally identified, however, it is believed to be that of the missing man.
Police say initial inquiries suggest his death is not suspicious.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
