CENTRAL WEST, NSW, Australia – Three or more men are the subject of a police manhunt following a crime spree across the region over the past few days.

The men have stolen two vehicle, stabbed a man, attempted to rob one service station and later robbed another, broken into a shed, and escaped a police pursuit since they came to the attention of police last Saturday.

The saga began Saturday in Bathurst when a leased white Hyundai i30 hatchback was stolen in the city.

Then on Wednesday morning, around 5:20am, the Hyundai hatchback was used to drive into the doors of a service station in Elsham Drive, Orange.

The vehicle however became stuck and the man abandoned it and fled the scene, empty-handed.

Less than half-an-hour later the men around 5:45am the men forced their way into a shed in Rossi Drive, Clifton Grove, and threatened the sole occupant, a 37-year-old man.

The men then stabbed the man before stealing his Holden Commodore and driving from the scene.

The 37-year-old man was taken to Orange Hospital, suffering stab wounds to his back, torso and hand, and remains in a stable condition.

Officers from Central West Police District who had begun investigating the spree, then spotted the Holden Commodore travelling on The Escort Way, about 20km west of Orange, just after 7:00am Wednesday.

A police pursuit was commenced; however, it was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.

Witnesses reported to police that the Holden Commodore stopped at a service station in Parkes but drove away without paying for petrol about 8.15am Wednesday.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision of these incidents to come forward.
