More than 320,000 cases of Covid-19 detect in U.S. so far

WASHINGTON, DC – More than 9,100 Americans have now died from the deadly Covid-19 coronavirus, according to the latest data published by Johns Hopkins University on Sunday.

The total number of confirmed cases in the United States is now reported to be above 321,000, and astonishingly 40% of those are in New York.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Saturday night that the death toll in the state had climbed to 3,565, more than the number of people killed in 9/11.

“The coronavirus is truly vicious and effective at what the virus does,” Cuomo said. “It’s an effective killer.”

The nation’s top health official warned the week ahead will be extraordinarily bad.

“This is going to be the hardest and the saddest week of most Americans’ lives, quite frankly. This is going to be our Pearl Harbor moment, our 9/11 moment, only it’s not going to be localized,” U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams told Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. “It’s going to be happening all over the country. And I want America to understand that.”

“This is going to be a test of our resolve,” Adams said. “It’s going to be the test of our lives. But I am confident that we can come out on the other side, based on the data and based on what I know about the American people.”

Pennsylvania, Colorado and Washington, DC, are now witnessing an increasing number of deaths. The White House coronavirus task force warned this week is not the time to go to the grocery store or other public places.
