BLAYNEY, Central West, NSW, Australia – A single-car crash in the New South Wales Central West has claimed the life of a woman, and left a man in hospital with serious head injuries.
The crash occurred around 11:35am on Monday near Lyndhurst, a small village in the Blayney Shire, 63 kilometres southwest of Bathurst.
Emergency services were called to the Mid Western Highway, about 5 kilometres west of Lyndhurst after reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Chifley Police District attended and located a Mazda sedan which had collided with a tree.
A woman passenger in the car, a Mazda sedan, died at the scene.
The driver, a man, was airlifted to St George Hospital in a serious condition with head injuries.
The Mid Western Highway was closed in both directions as the scene was cleared.
