BATHURST, Central West, NSW, Australia – A man was killed when struck by a truck on Wednesday afternoon in Bathurst, in the state’s Central West.

The 33-year old man was walking towards the intersection of William Street and Durham Street, Bathurst when he was hit by the truck.

The incident took place around 12:10pm at which time emergency services were alerted.

The man, who has not been formally identified, died at the scene.

Officers from Chifley Police District attended and set about carryiong out a forensic examination.

The truck driver, a man aged 49, was taken to Bathurst Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police say that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash have commenced.
