LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – Investigations are continuing into the circumstances of a single-vehicle crash on Thursday night which claimed the life of a man in the city of Lithgow, in the state’s Central West.

The crash occurred just after 5 o’clock on Thursday evening when a Nissan Navara was travelling west on Sodwalls Road, Rydal, which is in the City of Lithgow LGA about 14 kilomtres west of the city.

For unknown reasons the car left the road about 2km west of Hampton Road, Rydal and crashed.

Emergency services were called and attended the scene, locating the vehicle down a bush embankment.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District performed CPR on the driver, however he was unable to be revived and died at the scene.
