Police chase Black Holden Colorado in Wellington area

WELLINGTON, Central West, NSW, Australia – A 4WD vehicle has struck a police officer and escaped after two police pursuits in the state’s Central West in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The saga began around 1:05am when officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District engaged in a pursuit with a black Holden Colorado in the Wellington area.

When the 4WD waas driven into a shallow river crossing at the Macquarie River the pursuit was terminated.

A short time later, about 1.20am, the officers spotted the 4WD again at a dirt road leading away from the river and attempted to stop the vehicle again, with one officer exiting the police car.

The vehicle then drove towards the officer, striking him with the bull-bar to his chest area. The 4WD then drove away.

The officer suffered minor injuries to his wrist and legs. He was taken to Wellington Hospital and was transferred to Dubbo Hospital for further treatment.
