Police in Central West step up searching for missing teenager

LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – A 14-year old girl remains missing in the City fo Lithgow, more than a day after she went missing.

The girl’s family and police say they hold serious concerns for her welfare.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate the girl.

Tia Whitfield, aged 14, was last seen at the intersection of Mort Street and Hartley Valley Road in Lithgow about 6:00pm on Monday night.

Officers from Chifley Police Districts are responsibel for the investigation into establishing her whereabouts.

Tia is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 150cm tall, of thin build, with black hair and brown eyes.

She was wearing a red/black hoddie and black ripped jeans carrying a small black bakpack.

Anyone who sees Tia or knows of her whereabouts is urged to contact Lithgow Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
