Police investigation launched after stabbing in Central West

CENTRAL WEST, NSW, Australia – A crime scene has been established at a home in the New South Wales Central West after a man was stabbed in the chest on Tuesday.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

About 8:15am Tuesday, emergency services were called to a home on Myall Street, Dubbo after reports a man had been stabbed.

On arrival, officers found a 33-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his chest and thigh. He was treated at the scene before being taken to Dubbo Base Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The crime scene was established at the Myall Street premises as investigations continue by detectives from Orana Mid-Western Police District.

Early investigations suggest this was a targeted attack, police said in a statement.
