SPRINGWOOD, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia – There are concerns for a man who went missing in the Blue Mountains on Thursday afternoon.

The man has a medical condition which has prompted an urgent search for him. Blue Mountains police have issued an appeal for public help in assisting to trace the whereabouts of the man.

Michael Aynsley, aged 33, was last seen at his home on Fairways Crescent, Springwood, in a white 2003 Toyota Echo bearing NSW registration BF-31-LT, at about 5.30pm late Thursday afternoon.

Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command were notified when he failed to contact family members.

Police and family have concerns for Michael due to his medical condition.

He is known to frequent the lower Blue Mountains, Emu Plains, and the Penrith area.

Michael is described as Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall, large build, hazel eyes, short brown hair, beard and has a moustache.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with possibly a green jacket and blue jeans.

Police are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact Springwood Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
