Oct 24, 2018

LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – At the Local Government NSW Conference, Lithgow City Councillor Ring has caught up with the Small Business Commissioner, Robyn Hobbs OAM.

The Small Business Commission helps small businesses to operate as professionally, efficiently and successfully as they can.

The Commissioner has previously visited Lithgow to address the Lithgow District Chamber of Commerce.

Cr Ring and Ross Gurney, Council’s Chief Finance and Information Officer on EWednesday discussed with the Commissioner ways in which the Commission team can work with Council and directly with owners/operators in coming months to advise and assist small businesses in the Lithgow Local Government Area to thrive and grow.

The meeting was opportune, coming on the third and final day of the annual conference which this year is being hosted by the City of Albury, at the Albury Entertainment C entre. The conference, which began on Sunday is described as ‘the annual policy-making event for NSW general-purpose councils and our associate members. It is the pre-eminent event of the local government year where local councillors come together to share ideas and debate issues that shape the way we are governed.’
