Sep 29, 2020

LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – Ray Thompson has been returned for another 12 month term as Mayor of Lithgow City Council.

Thompson (pictured) won the Mayoral vote at Monday night’s meeting of Lithgow City Council.

Councillor Thompson and Councillor Cassandra Coleman were the only two nominations for the Mayor’s position, with Councillor Thompson returned by a 7-2 majority vote.

However, for the next 12 months there will be a new deputy, with Councillor Wayne McAndrew winning the vote for Deputy Mayor. McAndrew was elected to the role unopposed.

Both positions will run for a 12 month period, until the next NSW Local Government elections to be held on 4 September 2021.
