Three brigades fight bushfire south of Rylstone

Nov 21, 2018

RYLSTONE, Central Tablelands, NSW, Australia – Three brigades of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service fought a bushfire north of Lithgow and south of the town of Rylstone on Tuesday night.

The brigades were called out to the fire which had broken out on the foot of Baldy Mountains, a 650 foot high mountain located north of Lithgow, and south of Rylstone.

The call came just before 6:00pm.

Rylstone brigade was paged initially and it called in the brigades at Kandos and Clandulla.

The fire it was understood had been ignited during work being carried out at the location of the fire earlier on Tuesday.

Firefighters from the three brigades managed to get the fire under control quickly, and it was extinguished soon after.

“A lucky escape yesterday afternoon with the weather conditions on our side,” a spokesman for the Kandos brigade posted on their Facebook page on Wednesday.
