CENTRAL WEST, NSW, Australia – A young man has been shot at a home in the state’s Central West.

About 8.10am Thursday morning, officers attached to Central West Police District attended a home on Porter Street, in Parkes, and located a man suffering a gunshot wound to his right hand.

Police established a crime scene and located a sawn-off, side by side, double barrel shotgun within the garage of the home.

The alleged victim of the shooting, a 25-year-old man, was taken to Parkes Hospital before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in North Sydney for treatment.
