BOISE, Idaho: Idaho authorities said that four people died when the vehicle they were traveling in collided with a train in rural Idaho over the weekend.

The incident happened near Notus, nearly 35 miles northwest of Boise.

The pickup truck was carrying a 38-year-old man, 36-year-old woman and two children from Nampa when it was traveling on a private road that intersected a railroad crossing, but the driver failed to yield and the pickup was struck by a train, Idaho State Police said.

Idaho State Police are still investigating the incident and are working with the local coroner to notify the next of kin.
