Bathurst police searching for man they say held up service station

BATHURST, Central West, NSW, Australia – Police in Bathurst are searching for a masked man armed with a knife, who allegedly held up a service station on Tuesday morning.

Police say the man entered a service station on Bentick Street, Bathurst, at around 7:00am on Tuesday morning.

Armed with a knife he threatened the service station attendant before fleeing the scene with cash.

The man was last seen walking along Bentinck Street towards Mt Panorama.

The attendant, police say, was shaken but not injured.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District are now investigating the robbery.

They are searching for a man who they describe as being of Caucasian appearance, is approximately 170cm tall, with a slim build, and was last seen wearing all black including a beanie and a mask.

Police urge anyone with information including dashcam or CCTV footage who was in the Bathurst CBD around the time of the incident, including Bentinck and Russell Streets, to contact Bathurst Police Station on 6332 8699 or Crime Stoppers.
