Collision in Central West claims life of woman
Dec 8, 2017MUDGEE, Central West, NSW, Australia – The New South Wales road toll has risen following the death of a woman in a car crash in the state’s Central West.
The fatal crash occurred north of Mudgee early Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene, about 10 kilometres north of Mudgee at 12.15pm Thursday.
A rescue helicopter was also called in to assist.
Police say two cars collided. One of the drivers, a woman, died at the scene, while the other was trapped for a period of time.
A section of the Castlereagh Highway was closed while police and ambulance services dealt with the emergency.
