ORANGE, Central West, NSW, Australia – Two people have died in a plane crash 13 kilometres south of Orange in the state’s Central West.
The crash occurred just after 12 noon on Wednesday.
Police and emergency services were called to a paddock on Forest Road, Spring Hill, after reports a recreational light aircraft had crashed.
The plane was on fire when the emergency services arrived. Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames, after which two bodies were recovered from the wreckage.
Officers from the Central West Police District established coronial investigation scenes.
Police, with assistance from the Australian Sports Rotorcraft Association, have said they will investigate the cause of the crash.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau, police said, had been notified of the incident.
