LANAO DEL NORTE, Sep. 30 (PIA)–The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte continuous to expand the sport of triathlon in the province by encouraging partnership with the municipalities to promote Sports Tourism, a time to showcase the Unity of Muslim and Christian residents, who have lived harmoniously for years.
The second leg of the homegrown Lanorteman Triathlon Series for 2019 was held at the Municipality of Kauswagan, September 22.
A total of 338 triathletes from other provinces and cities, as well as visitors from other countries, namely, Australian Triathlete and Coach Daniel ‘Dan’ Brown with wife, Philippine Team Coach, Ani Deleon-Brown and from Spain, Fernando Jośe Casares of Team Black Arrow Express, converged at the famous and longest boardwalk of the country.
This is to participate not only for the sport but also to celebrate friendship and camaraderie built in the last five years.
First District Rep. Mohamad Khalid Quibranza Dimaporo joined the second leg and personally demonstrated that Lanao del Norte is a peaceful province aside from encouraging residents to engage in a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise.
Days before the race, triathletes were invited to visit famous tourist spots in the province, experience the warm hospitality of the residents and enjoy natural wonders that Lanao del Norte is blessed with, and to see for themselves how peace-loving and industrious the people are.
LanorteGirl was also held in Kauswagan, September 21. This all-girls fun run was created to promote a healthy lifestyle, embrace friendship and build camaraderie.
Vice Governor Maria Cristina N. Atay ran in LanorteGirl to expressly support the goal of the activity, and personally handed the trophies to LanorteMan winners.
The third and final leg for 2019 LanorteMan Triathlon Series will take place on December in the Municipality of Sultan Naga Dimaporo. (PIO-LDN/PIA10)
