BATHURST, CENTRAL WEST, NSW, Australia – The search for a 25-year old man missing in Bathurst in the state’s Central West since last Thursday (24 June 2021) has been stood down following the discovery of a body, believed to be that of the missing man.
Officers from Chifley Police District made a public appeal for assistance after the man was reported missing.
Following extensive inquiries, the man’s body was located in the Upper Turon area, 36 kilometres north of Bathurst, shortly after 9:00am on Friday morning.
Police said the body is yet to be formally identified and the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police have thanked the public and volunteers who assisted in searching for the missing man.
