Russell Street Bathurst Railway Underpass to be closed on weekend
May 22, 2019BATHURST, Central West, NSW, Australia – The Bathurst Regional Council has advised that the Russell Street Bathurst Railway Underpass will be temporarily closed this weekend.
The underpass will be out of service for 12 hours each day on Saturday 25 May and Sunday 26 May.
Transport NSW is refurbishing the bridge as part of the NSW government's country rail infrastructure program.
The works are being carried out by John Holland Rail.
"The refurbishment of the Russell Street bridge has been planned as part of annual maintenance on the country regional network," a John Holland spokesperson said earlier this year when the project was first announced.
"The refurbishment includes the installation of an access walkway within the rail corridor for rail staff and train drivers to access the bridge."
