Russian oil exports to China, India reach 400,000 barrels per day
Jul 30, 2022MOSCOW, Russia: The Russian central bank reported that April and May oil exports were 4.7 times above normal, at more than 400,000 barrels per day, due to discounted prices.
Despite being shunned by Western companies and countries since sanctions were imposed against Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, Indian refiners have been purchasing relatively cheap Russian oil.
China also increased its Russian oil purchases by 55 percent in May, when the country surpassed Saudi Arabia as its leading importer of oil, the central bank added.
