MOSCOW, Russia – Russia’s Vladimir Putin expressed on Thursday that he was ready to begin talks with US President Donald Trump, but he added that the re-election campaign of Trump may complicate Russia-US ties.
Trump recently said that he expects to hold talks with Putin at the G20 summit in Japan by next week although Moscow is yet to receive a formal invitation.
Relations between Russia and the US remain unstable with all conflicts from Syria to Venezuela and Ukraine, not to mention the accusations of Russian interference in America’s politics.
Putin candidly expressed that the ties between Washington and Moscow are getting worse and that a dialogue is always good to re-establish normal relations. The two leaders have a lot to talk about, including their strategy for nuclear stability and cybersecurity.
The Russian leader, however, said that Donald Trump’s drive to win the next presidential term might just complicate relations.
