‘Fantasy Island’ set for comeback, this time on the big screen

Blumhouse and Sony Pictures are teaming up to produce an upcoming Hollywood movie, ‘Fantasy Island,’

Both these production houses will collaborate with filmmaker Jeff Wadlow for the movie, reports Variety.

The movie is an adaptation of a television series of the same name, which ran between 1977 and 1984.

The story revolveds around a mysterious overseas island where people are permitted to live out their wildest fantasies but, for a price. The series was based on dark and supernatural themes.

It ran for a whopping seven seasons, with 152 episodes.

Wadlow is directing and co-writing it with Chris Roach and Jillian Jacobs.

Jason Blum is producing the movie, while Wadlow will be the executive producer along with Blumhouse’s Couper Samuelson. (ANI)
