LITHGOW, Central West, NSW, Australia – A 23-year-old man faced Lithgow Local Court on Thursday, charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.

He had been arrested after handing himself in at Lithgow Police Station on Wednesday. He was refused bail and taken into custody.

The man is one of three who have now been arrested in connection with domestic violence-related offences and an armed robbery that occurred in Blayney, in the NSW Central West, on the weekend.

According to police reports, the saga began around 9:30 pm last Saturday night when a man allegedly threatened a woman with a firearm and a machete while they were travelling through Blayney. Shortly after, he exited the vehicle and joined two other men in a silver sedan.

At approximately 10:30 pm, the silver sedan was allegedly involved in a robbery at Blayney Rotary Lookout.

During this incident, a 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman reported being threatened by three men armed with a firearm and a machete. The trio reportedly fled the scene, taking several of the couple’s possessions.

Officers from the Chifley Police District initiated an investigation into both incidents. Earlier this week, two men were arrested and charged and are currently before the courts.

Further inquiries led to the arrest of a third man, the 23-year-old man who handed himself in at Lithgow Police Station around 2 pm on Wednesday. He was charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon and was refused bail ahead of his appearance before Lithgow Local Court on Thursday.
