Tragedy strikes small Central West town with death of boy

ORANGE, Central West, NSW, Australia – A young boy has been killed in a freak accident in the New South Wales Central West  on Saturday afternoon.

The 11-year old was fishing with two other boys on a creek bed at a property about 35 kilometres north east of Orange.

It is understood the creek bed collapsed, critically injuring the boy.

Paramedics and police were called to the property located on Mitchell Highway, Molong around 2:00 o’clock on Saturday afternoon.

The injured boy was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

The other two boys wre uninjured.

Officers from the Central West Police District have opened an investigation into the incident.
