WASHINGTON D.C.: Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has told lawmakers that the US will soon send additional security assistance to Taiwan.
“The US will soon provide significant additional security assistance to Taiwan through the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) that Congress authorized last year,” Austin said.
The Presidential Drawdown Authority expedites security assistance and has helped to send arms to Ukraine.
Reuters reported earlier this month that the White House will send weapons worth $500 million to Taiwan through the Presidential Drawdown Authority.
